Strengths

Two launches 500 m apart — east and west. The wind changes, we move over, we keep flying
The wooded hills of the western side give gentle thermals, the rocky ridges of the east — powerful ones
A town in a bowl on the ridge: triangles close instead of turning into a long flight with a retrieve
A light northerly along the valley in the afternoon — we take it into account when returning from southern routes

What is dangerous here

In summer a light northerly draws along the valley after noon — returning from the south is harder
Going south along the ridge you move away from the landing fields towards the Greek border

Routes

What people fly here

Along the ridge north to the rocks of Prilep, south along the ridge and on into the plain, the loop to the Treskavec monastery. On a good day a guest pilot flies a 50–100 km out-and-return; the school has a documented 90 km triangle and flights beyond 100 km.

Competitions. The Paragliding World Cup came here in 2022.

The Guiding format includes: a guide on site for the whole trip, weather briefing and the task of the day, shuttle to launch, retrieve from the landing, radio guidance and live tracking, track debrief every evening. Accommodation and meals are yours.
Guiding + stay: twin or shared for the whole trip, price in the table above.
Not included: flights, insurance, personal equipment, visa fees, local site fees — cable cars, launch fees, forest and park fees.
Booking and invoicing are handled by the manager. This is a partner site, so the final price and deposit are confirmed by the manager — the price in the table is valid at the time of publication.

Groups of 4–8 pilots; a trip runs from four. Dates inside the window are adjusted to the group that forms — tell us the month and we will schedule the trip. The 30 % deposit per pilot secures your place and is non-refundable, except when the group does not form and we cannot run the tour. Preparation

Visa, weather and non-flying days

Visa

Ukraine and Georgia — visa-free 90 days on a biometric passport. Russia and Kazakhstan need a visa; the exception is 15 days visa-free with a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa of category C.

June–August: warm and dry, many flyable days.

Insurance, documents and rules

Insurance that covers paragliding is mandatory — at least €100 000, with search and rescue, helicopter evacuation and repatriation. Before the trip every participant signs the participant document and sends it to us together with a photo of their passport and licence.
