Two unhurried days in Georgia's high mountains: the Georgian Military Highway with Zhinvali Reservoir, Ananuri and the Friendship Monument, the atmosphere of Stepantsminda at the foot of Mount Kazbek, and the quiet alpine village of Juta with light hiking. Private format for 1–4 guests, a flexible itinerary and pickup in Tbilisi.
The first major stop on the Georgian Military Highway: a 17th-century fortress complex above the turquoise water of the reservoir. A walk along the walls and towers and your first mountain photos.
The road climbs to the highest point of the route with panoramas of the Greater Caucasus. It is noticeably cooler here than in Tbilisi — a warm layer comes in handy.
A lunch stop in the village known for its khinkali. Lunch is optional and paid separately.
The viewing platform with its mosaic monument above the gorge — the most recognisable photo spot on the highway. Overnight in Gudauri: Gudauri Adventure Hostel or apartments.
Morning in Kazbegi: views of Mount Kazbek and a drive to the Darial Gorge — the narrow canyon of the Terek River right by the border.
Quiet waterfalls away from the tourist flow and the remains of ancient fortifications in the mountains around Stepantsminda.
A high-altitude village at the foot of the Chaukhi massif and an easy walking route to the Green Lake. Distance and pace are adjusted to the group and the weather.
A traditional Georgian lunch after the walk and an unhurried drive back — return to Tbilisi in the evening.
Private transport from Tbilisi, a guide, a carefully planned two-day route and full coordination of the trip. Meals, entrance tickets and accommodation are agreed separately.
The same package for a group or family of up to 4: one vehicle, a guide and a private programme with no strangers.
More hiking and lesser-known spots around Kazbegi, time for the Mount Kazbek panoramas, tastings and local cuisine. Format — 48+ hours.
Prices are indicative, in GEL per car (1–4 people) unless stated otherwise, and may change with the season — the manager confirms the final amount for your dates and party on WhatsApp. A deposit of 450 GEL / 150 EUR per group secures the booking and is deducted from the tour price; bad weather or a closed road = free reschedule.

Payment: the deposit is paid by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfer or Bank of Georgia. The balance is paid in cash on the tour day — to your driver or at Café Bar PILOT, depending on where the tour starts; cash in lari, or USD/EUR with a 3% currency-handling fee. Terms · Refunds
Couples, families and small groups of friends (1–4 guests) who value comfort, clear logistics and an unhurried pace. It works both as a first introduction to Georgia's mountains and for those who want to see Kazbegi more deeply than a one-day trip allows.
Two days, roughly 30–34 hours from leaving Tbilisi until you are back. Tbilisi to Juta via the Georgian Military Highway is about 165 km one way, so Day 1 is mostly a scenic drive with stops.
The tour starts in Tbilisi — the driver picks you up at your hotel or a given address. The departure time is agreed at booking; for a two-day route a morning start is usually best so Day 1's stops can be enjoyed without rushing.
Day 1 is the drive from Tbilisi towards Kazbegi: Zhinvali Reservoir, Ananuri, Gudauri, the Friendship Monument and Stepantsminda. Day 2 is Juta: the quieter, nature-focused part with light hiking, followed by the return to Tbilisi.
The overnight stay in the Kazbegi area is discussed before the booking is confirmed. Accommodation is not part of the base package unless it is added to your individual quote — the team will help pick an option for your budget and group.
Private transport from Tbilisi, a guide, a carefully planned route with stops, photo stops at viewpoints and all the organisation: agreeing the date, itinerary and details for your group.
Meals and drinks, accommodation (unless included in your quote), entrance tickets and activities not agreed in advance, plus personal expenses and souvenirs.
The tour costs 1489 GEL for 1–2 guests and 1799 GEL for 3–4 guests; the third day in Kazbegi is an extra 499 GEL. A deposit of 150 EUR per group secures the date and is deducted from the total tour cost and the balance is paid in cash on the tour day (to your driver or at Café Bar PILOT, depending on where the tour starts). The deposit can be paid by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfer or Bank of Georgia.
Private format only: the vehicle carries just your party of 1–4 people, no strangers. Transport and guides are provided by SkyAtlantida's licensed partners.
The tour runs year-round: in summer the mountains are green and open, in winter it is a quiet snow-covered Caucasus. For hiking in Juta the best window is June–September; from late autumn to late spring the gravel road to Juta is usually closed by snow, so Day 2 is built around accessible Kazbegi locations instead.
The Georgian Military Highway closes from time to time in winter because of snow and avalanches, mostly between Gudauri and Kazbegi. The guide/driver decides on departure for safety reasons; if the road is closed, the tour is rescheduled free of charge without losing your deposit.
Comfortable shoes with good grip for light hiking, layered clothing and a windbreaker (Juta sits at about 2,200 m and is cool even in summer), sunscreen and sunglasses, water, a snack, a phone charger and some cash in GEL. For the overnight stay — a change of clothes and any medication you need.
These are light walking routes suitable for most travellers, not a full trek. Distance and pace are adjusted to the group and the weather; if you prefer, you can simply enjoy the views around the village.
Yes, families often choose this format. Children travel with their parents; a child seat is available on request at booking. Walks in Juta are adjusted to the children's age, and two days leave plenty of time for breaks.
Guiding is available in English or Russian — let us know your preference when booking.
Yes. Before confirming, you can discuss the pickup point, group, overnight stay and the route logic, and when conditions allow add SkyAtlantida activities in Gudauri — paragliding, quad bikes, buggies, rafting, horse riding. These are booked and paid for separately.
Yes, an optional third day is available for those who want more time in the mountains and lesser-known spots. It is discussed individually after the booking is confirmed.
In bad weather or if the road is closed, the tour is rescheduled free of charge; if rescheduling is impossible, the deposit is refunded minus payment-system fees (5–10 business days). If a guest cancels after confirmation, does not show up or arrives late, the deposit is non-refundable — see the refund policy for details.
The road is long and winding in places, so if you are prone to motion sickness bring tablets and ask for a front seat — there are plenty of rest stops. Altitudes are moderate (Stepantsminda ~1,740 m, Juta ~2,200 m), so altitude sickness is rare, but drink more water than usual.
Yes, some cash in GEL is useful: small cafés and guesthouses in Kazbegi and Juta do not always take cards. It is easiest to withdraw money in Tbilisi or Stepantsminda.
Message us on WhatsApp with your dates, number of guests, pickup point and overnight preferences. The team confirms availability, quotes the price and sends deposit instructions; once the deposit is paid, the booking is fixed. We reply daily 09:00–21:00 (GMT+4), usually within ~30 minutes.
