What is dangerous here

Northerly wind and foehn turn Organyà into a turbulent zone within minutes; the Segre valley works like a venturi
Do not go north of the antennas on the summit without a big height margin — behind the mountain the venturi accelerates the wind, landings are poor
Airspace: Andorra — La Seu d'Urgell airport is 12 km away, flying is stopped for 2.5 hours before and after every flight
Andorra: do not launch from Beixalís after 16:00 in spring and summer; at Coll de la Botella — sink and few landings, “stay high, land high”

Routes

What people fly here

From the DHV-XC sample for the Organyà launch: best free flight 63.5 km (Boris Stähly, 10.07.2022, altitude 4165 m), a 58.9 km triangle (2016). Regional classics from Àger: 55 km through Terradets and a 200 km out-and-return to Sierra Ferrera. Andorra: from Coll de la Botella the typical line goes south-east into Spain.

Competitions. Organyà is a world acro site: Acro Game 2016–2019 (in 2019 — 15 pilots from 11 countries); a round of the Catalan league in 2009 (60+ pilots), the Catalan championship. The 2007 Spanish and Catalan championships were held at neighbouring Canaldà. No World Cup rounds have been held in Organyà.

The Guiding format includes: a guide on site for the whole trip, weather briefing and the task of the day, shuttle to launch, retrieve from the landing, radio guidance and live tracking, track debrief every evening. Accommodation and meals are yours.
Guiding + stay: twin or shared for the whole trip, price in the table above.
Not included: flights, insurance, personal equipment, visa fees, local site fees — cable cars, launch fees, forest and park fees.
Booking and invoicing are handled by the manager. This is a partner site, so the final price and deposit are confirmed by the manager — the price in the table is valid at the time of publication.

Groups of 4–8 pilots; a trip runs from four. Dates inside the window are adjusted to the group that forms — tell us the month and we will schedule the trip. The 30 % deposit per pilot secures your place and is non-refundable, except when the group does not form and we cannot run the tour. Preparation

Visa, weather and non-flying days

Visa

Andorra is outside Schengen and needs no visa, but you can only enter through Spain or France — a double- or multiple-entry Schengen visa is required. Ukraine and Georgia — visa-free 90/180 on a biometric passport. Russia and Kazakhstan need a Schengen visa; since November 2025 citizens of Russia are, as a rule, issued single-entry visas only — entering Andorra from Spain would mean losing the right to return.

Weather in the window

Organyà (558 m): April about 13–15 °C by day, May 17–19; 88–96 mm of rain a month. Andorra la Vella (1075 m): April maximum 13 °C, minimum 2; May 18 and 5; 71–90 mm.

Organyà: the Homilies d'Organyà — the oldest Catalan text, 12th century, the Romanesque church of Santa Maria, the Tresponts gorge, the dolmen trail. La Seu d'Urgell: the 12th-century cathedral, the Olympic canoe canal. Andorra: the Caldea thermal spa.

Insurance, documents and rules

Insurance that covers paragliding is mandatory — at least €100 000, with search and rescue, helicopter evacuation and repatriation. Before the trip every participant signs the participant document and sends it to us together with a photo of their passport and licence.
