How it works

From hello to happy — four steps

Step 1

Meet & briefing

We meet at the track; a short briefing on how to sit in the sled and behave around the team.

Step 2

Meet the team

The musher introduces the dogs — each has its character and its place in the harness.

Step 3

The ride

A 3–5-minute loop on the snow track. Want more? We run several loops.

Step 4

Photos with huskies

After the ride — time to pet the dogs and take photos with the team (with the musher’s permission).

🐾 The dogs come first: workloads are dosed, the team rests between rides, and running is a husky’s natural joy.

FAQ

Husky ride: everything guests ask

What is a husky ride?

A sled ride pulled by a team of Siberian huskies, driven by an experienced musher. You sit in the sled and enjoy — no skills are required from you.

How long is one ride?

One loop takes about 3–5 minutes. You can ride several loops in a row, depending on your wishes and team availability.

Where does it take place?

On a snow track in Gudauri at about 2,300 m — pin in Google Maps. We are not at the track permanently and come for confirmed slots, so riding is by booking only; you are welcome to come and take photos with the huskies.

When is the husky season?

In winter, on stable snow cover. Exact season dates depend on the snow — check availability with our manager on WhatsApp.

Do I need any experience?

No. It is an easy activity for guests of any age and fitness: the musher drives the team, you enjoy the ride.

Can children ride? From what age?

Yes — kids love husky rides. From age 2 — in the same sled as an adult (1 adult + 1 child): +120 GEL on top of the adult price. From age 5 a child can ride on their own, accompanied by the instructor. Parents are responsible for children; the instructor may stop the ride if a child behaves unsafely.

Who drives the sled?

An experienced musher who works with these dogs daily. Guests do not drive the team themselves — for safety and for the dogs’ well-being.

How many people fit in the sled?

One adult per sled, or one adult + one child. Bigger groups ride in turns: the team goes with each guest separately, and nobody waits long.

Is there a weight limit?

Yes — the sled and the team have a sensible load limit, confirmed by the manager at booking. It is about caring for the dogs: we never overload the team.

How are the dogs treated?

The dogs are the core of the team. Huskies are a sled breed — running in harness is their natural joy; workloads are dosed, dogs rest between rides and are well cared for and socialized.

Can I pet the huskies and take photos?

Yes — after the ride, with the musher’s permission. Huskies are friendly and used to guests; a photo session with the team is most guests’ favourite part.

What should I wear?

Warm windproof clothing, winter boots, gloves and a hat. Sunglasses help — mountain snow is bright. No special equipment is needed.

Is it safe?

Yes. There is a short briefing before the ride; the route runs on a prepared track and the team is driven by an experienced musher. Just follow their instructions.

What happens in bad weather?

If the weather or snow conditions are not safe, the ride is rescheduled to the nearest available slot — without losing your deposit.

How do I book?

Send four things on WhatsApp: 1) number of people, 2) date, 3) whether you want drone photo/video, 4) whether you need a transfer. We check availability and send the details; a deposit of 80 GEL per person holds the booking, the balance is paid on site. Slots are limited — no booking, no ride.

How do I pay?

Online payments are processed in Georgian lari (GEL) via Bank of Georgia; on site — cash GEL or card. If a price is quoted in EUR, conversion follows the bank rate on the day of payment.

Can I take photos and video?

Of course — shoot as much as you like on your phone; the musher will suggest the best angles. Optional drone filming: photo — 100 GEL, video — 150 GEL, photo + video — 199 GEL.

I am allergic to dogs — should I ride?

With a pronounced dog allergy it is better to avoid close contact: petting is optional, and during the ride itself contact is minimal. Judge by how you feel.

Can I bring my own dog?

No — a stranger dog near a working team causes stress and risk of conflict. Please leave your pet at home or in the hotel.

Is it suitable during pregnancy or with back problems?

The ride is calm, but the sled runs on snow with light bumps. If pregnant or with back issues, consult your doctor and tell our manager — we will suggest the gentlest format.

Can we arrange a family or group ride?

Yes — groups ride in turns, and for bigger groups we agree the time in advance so nobody waits. Message the manager with your group details.

How is this different from a multi-hour sledding tour?

It is a light introduction format: short 3–5-minute loops on a prepared track, accessible to everyone. Perfect for families and a first experience with sled dogs.

What language is the experience in?

Russian and English. The manager and the on-site team will help you in both.

What is included in the price?

A ride on a real dog team with an instructor (1 loop, 3–5 minutes), a briefing and photo time with the dogs — 200 GEL per person. A child in the same sled as an adult — +120 GEL. Drone filming (100/150/199 GEL) and transfer (60 GEL per car) are optional extras.

Is there a transfer to the track?

Yes, optionally: 60 GEL per car — we pick you up in Gudauri, wait while you ride and bring you back. Say “transfer — yes” when booking.

Can I just turn up without a booking?

You can come and take photos with the huskies, but riding is only for confirmed bookings: we are not at the track all the time and come for booked slots.
