Buggy Adventure in Gudauri

A guided ride in a 2-seater buggy along mountain tracks, off-road sections and river crossings around Gudauri — point-to-point, not a tourist loop. It suits couples, friends and travellers, first-timers included: this is not a race but a controlled adventure focused on nature, fun and safety.

30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes of riding (maximum 2 hours). The longer the route, the further and more scenic the places you reach. For a first ride 30–60 minutes is usually plenty; 90 and 120 minutes are the longest options: summer; in winter — weather permitting, confirmed 1–2 days before. Arrive 30 minutes early for paperwork and the briefing.

Year-round. In winter (5 Dec – 15 Apr) we run 30- and 60-minute rides. Longer rides are not guaranteed in winter — they depend on snow and weather and can be confirmed 1–2 days before the activity. In summer — 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes. The route is chosen to match the season and terrain: snowy valleys in winter, dirt tracks, rivers and open valleys in summer. Mountain weather changes fast, so dress with a margin.

Driving — 18+ with a category B (international) driving licence; passenger — a child from age 2 held by a parent. The driver must hold a valid category B driving licence (proof that you can drive a car). Before the ride, the driver signs a document accepting full responsibility for the vehicle. Only the person who signed it may drive — one driver per buggy, everyone else rides as a passenger. Swapping seats or handing the wheel to a passenger is not allowed. Age guideline for all activities — up to 70; older guests should consult their doctor and refrain if in doubt. Parents or guardians are responsible for children; if a child behaves unsafely for themselves or the group, the instructor may remove them from the activity with the full payment retained.

Weight limit — up to 125 kg per person; it is a safety requirement, so message us in advance if you are close to it.

Closed shoes with decent grip and comfortable weather-appropriate clothing are a must; helmets are provided. In summer wear long sleeves and trousers against dust and sun, plus sunglasses and sunscreen; in winter go for warm layers, a windproof jacket, gloves and a neck gaiter. Nothing loose (scarves, jewellery), phone in a zipped pocket. Missing gear can be rented from our Gudauri rental.

No. The controls are car-like — steering wheel and pedals — and the guide sets the pace, so the first few minutes are for getting used to it and then it feels intuitive. All you need is a valid licence and attention during the briefing.

It is a controlled adventure, not a race: the guide leads the convoy and sets the pace, helmets are mandatory, vehicles keep a 15–20 m gap and speed drops early on tricky sections. Before the start you get a briefing on controls, signals and route rules; leaving the route or overtaking is not allowed, and instructor commands are followed immediately. Included: 2-seater buggy, helmets, local guide, safety briefing and route planning. Not included: transfer (booked separately), food and drinks, extra warm clothing and gloves beyond the standard setup, personal photo and video services.

Current prices by format are in the "Formats & prices" block above. Deposit: 150 GEL / 50 EUR per buggy. It secures the booking and is part of the price; the balance is paid on site. In bad weather or a safety cancellation — a free reschedule, or a refund minus bank fees and services already provided (5–10 business days). No-show or guest-initiated cancellation — the deposit is not refunded.

The responsible instructor on site decides, purely on safety grounds. If the tour is cancelled for weather or route conditions, we first offer a free reschedule to another date; if that does not work, the deposit is refunded minus bank fees and any services already provided, within 5–10 business days. Light rain or snow is rarely a reason to cancel — the guide is more likely to adjust the route or pace.

For a reschedule, message us on WhatsApp as early as possible and we will find another slot subject to availability. If the guest cancels or does not show up, the deposit is non-refundable. By default we meet at Café Bar PILOT (New Gudauri); the exact start point is sent once the booking is confirmed. Transfer is not included and is paid separately — price on request.

Yes, but not while driving. Mount an action camera on your helmet or a bracket and keep your phone on a lanyard or in a zipped pocket — things get lost easily on rough ground. Personal photo and video services are not included; they can be discussed and added separately when booking.

Yes: tell us how many buggies you need — each takes 1–2 guests and the guide leads the convoy. If you would rather all ride in one vehicle, look at the Turbo Maverick (up to 4 guests) or VIP Defender (up to 6). Book early for weekends and high season.

Riding under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other substance is not allowed. The tour is not recommended during pregnancy or for guests with back or neck injuries, heart conditions or recent surgery — bumps and vibration are unavoidable. If in doubt, check with your doctor and let us know when booking.

Usually not: the buggy is open, you see the track and feel every turn yourself — easier than a winding road in a car. If you are prone to it as a passenger, eat light before the start, look ahead in the direction of travel and tell the guide — the pace can be eased.

Insurance is not included. We strongly recommend arriving with a policy that covers active outdoor experiences and buggy/off-road tours in Georgia — check this in advance. The activity is run by an independent operator, and personal insurance decisions remain the guest's responsibility.

Booking and all communication are in Russian or English, with WhatsApp replies daily from 09:00 to 21:00 (GMT+4). The language of the on-site briefing and guiding is confirmed at booking.

The buggy is a 2-seater with a car-like steering wheel and pedals — you sit side by side rather than astride; the driver needs a licence and must be 18+, from 499 GEL. A quad bike (1–2 people, from 199 GEL, routes up to 120 min) has a motorcycle-style seat and handlebars, needs no licence and riders can be 16+: more raw, but you have to keep your balance. The Turbo Maverick is more powerful and roomier, up to 4 guests with a professional guide, from 649 GEL. The VIP Defender is the most comfortable, relaxed format for up to 6 guests in one vehicle, from 699 GEL. SkyAtlantida (Individual Entrepreneur Serhii Mykhailiuta, Reg. No. 329338355) organises, coordinates and books the tour; the ride itself is carried out by an independent licensed operator whose instructor is responsible for the route and on-site safety.
