Who is this tour for?
Couples, families, small groups of friends and anyone travelling for photos and a calm mountain day. No special fitness is required: it is a comfortable drive with stops, not a trek.
How long is the trip and how far do we drive?
The one-day format takes 7–11 hours — the exact time depends on the season, weather, pace and the stops you agree on. Total mileage is confirmed at booking.
Where and when do we start?
From Gudauri: the default meeting point is Café Bar PILOT (New Gudauri, Loft 1), hotel pick-up in Gudauri is possible. Departure time is agreed individually at booking.
What is included in the price?
A comfortable private car, a driver-guide, trip organisation and coordination, photo and walking stops. In the warm season, optionally, bathing in mountain rivers, at waterfalls or in a mineral-water pool.
What is not included?
Restaurant meals and drinks, personal expenses and all add-on activities (quad bikes, buggies, horseback riding, snowmobiles, paragliding, rafting, hiking) — these are booked and paid separately.
How much does it cost and how does the deposit work?
749 GEL per car for 1–2 guests and 849 GEL for 3–4 guests; the 2-day extension is +499 GEL. A deposit of 300 GEL / 100 EUR per group secures the booking, the balance is paid in cash on the tour day — to your driver or at Café Bar PILOT, depending on where the tour starts. The deposit can be paid by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfer or Bank of Georgia.
How big is the group and what do we travel in?
It is a private tour for your party only: prices are for 1–4 people in one comfortable car. The trip is operated by SkyAtlantida's licensed partner carriers and guides; for larger parties the format is confirmed at booking.
What is the best season for Juta?
The tour runs year-round: summer brings green alpine meadows and open space, the cold season a more dramatic mountain mood. The unpaved stretch to the village itself is usually passable from late May–June to October; in the snow season the guide decides the final stop based on conditions.
What about the road in winter?
The Georgian Military Highway can close in winter because of snow and avalanches. The guide/carrier makes the safety call on departure; if the road is closed, we reschedule free of charge and your deposit is kept.
What is the road to Juta like — do we need a 4x4?
The last stretch from the Sno valley to Juta is a narrow gravel track with potholes and washouts that needs high clearance. You don't have to worry about it: the manager confirms a suitable vehicle for the season and your group at booking.
What should I bring?
A warm layer and a windproof jacket (it is cool at around 2,200 m even in summer), comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen and sunglasses, water and a snack, some cash in lari, a charged phone/camera. In winter — a warm jacket, hat and gloves.
Can we bring children?
Yes, children travel with their parents — it is an easy trip with no demanding sections. A child seat is provided on request: mention your child's age when booking.
What language does the guide speak?
Guiding is available in English or Russian — tell us your preferred language when booking.
Can we change the route or add activities?
Yes, the format is private: departure time, stops and pace are adjusted to you within safe and realistic limits. You can add quad bikes, buggies, paragliding, horseback riding, rafting or snowmobiles — these are booked and paid separately.
Can we extend the tour to two days?
Yes, the extended format with an overnight is +499 GEL and takes 30+ hours: more viewpoints, a slower pace, optional tastings and local-cuisine stops. Accommodation details are confirmed at booking.
Will there be a lunch stop?
Time permitting and if you wish, the guide will stop for Georgian food and drinks — paid separately. If you would like lunch planned in advance, mention it when booking.
How high is Juta — do we need to acclimatise?
The village sits at roughly 2,200 m above sea level. A one-day trip without strenuous exertion needs no acclimatisation: just drink more water, use sun protection and take walks at an easy pace.
Can we hike to the mountain lake under Chaukhi?
The base format includes easy walks and photo stops around the village. A proper hike to the foot of Chaukhi (several kilometres with elevation gain, 4–5 hours round trip) is a separate option from May to October and must be agreed in advance.
Is the mountain road prone to motion sickness?
The road winds a lot and sensitive passengers can feel it. A front seat, keeping your eyes on the road, a light breakfast and motion-sickness tablets taken in advance all help; the guide will always make an extra stop on request.
Is there mobile signal, toilets and card payment in Juta?
Mobile signal is mostly available but drops in places. Toilets are only at the village guesthouses and cafés; cards are not accepted everywhere, so bring some cash in lari.
What happens if we cancel or reschedule?
Bad weather or a closed road — free rescheduling; if rescheduling is impossible, the deposit is refunded minus payment-system fees within 5–10 business days. For cancellation after confirmation, a no-show or a late arrival that prevents the tour from starting, the deposit is non-refundable — see /refund-policy/.
How do I book?
Message us on WhatsApp with the tour, preferred date, number of guests and your name. We reply daily 09:00–21:00 (GMT+4), usually within ~30 minutes, confirm availability and send the deposit and meeting-point details.
