The eighth module of the “Small wings” course. What you need at every lesson, how to check your gear before flying, why lines change length, how the school does laser measuring and line trimming, what cloth porosity is, when to repack the reserve and how to store the wing.
At every lesson, everyone has: a wing, a harness, a helmet, back protection, a radio.
For speed riding, also: skis and an avalanche kit: transceiver, shovel, probe. The transceiver is switched on to transmit all day, and the group checks the transceivers in the morning. For launches away from the lift you need a ski touring set.
What the school gives you on the course: a wing, a harness, a helmet, back protection, a radio, and for speed riding an avalanche transceiver. The shovel and probe are your own; you can rent a full avalanche kit with a backpack from us for 100 € per day.
Real-life example. A bike that stood in the garage for a year gets checked first: brakes, tyres, chain. Only then do you ride.
The full module text, the practice sessions and the exams are open to those who train with us. Access to the theory is included in the course fee: it runs for the whole course and for three months after it ends.
