What to wear for comfortable paragliding in summer?
Flying a paraglider is an amazing adventure that can bring a lot of fun and adrenaline. However, in order to make this flight as comfortable as possible, it is important to choose the right clothes. In summer, when the temperature reaches its maximum, the choice of clothing becomes even more important. In this article we will tell you what to wear for a comfortable paragliding flight in summer.
Lightweight clothing
While flying a paraglider you will need to move and look around, so your clothes should be light and not constraining your movements. In summer it's best to wear clothes made of natural fabrics such as cotton and linen, which let the air pass through and let the body breathe. When flying a paraglider you'll be at an altitude where the wind can be very strong. Wear a light jacket or vest to protect yourself from the wind. This will also keep you warm on cold days. Comfortable shoes
The shoes should be lightweight, comfortable, closed and non-slip, with strong soles to ensure stability at the start and landing. During the start and landing you will have to run some distance and therefore the shoes should be as comfortable as possible. Good choices are quality sneakers or special shoes that will provide support for the foot and cushioning during the landing. Do not wear sandals or flip-flops, as they do not provide enough support and can lead to injury or simply fall off during the flight, it will be impossible to find them.
Additional accessories
If you can, it is also advisable to wear gloves to protect your hands from the cold and friction of landing. You should also consider wearing sunglasses to protect your eyes from wind and bright light.
If you are flying a paraglider in an area with high humidity or if you get caught in a cloud, your clothes will get wet quickly. You should wear clothes made of quick-drying materials to avoid discomfort from wet fabric. Or have a change of clothes. Don't forget that while paragliding temperatures may change depending on the altitude and weather conditions, so it is recommended to wear clothes in several layers which can be easily removed or put on depending on the temperature. Good quality thermal underwear is excellent for paragliding. It keeps your body at a comfortable temperature and won't let you overheat.
In general, the choice of clothing for paragliding in summer depends on specific flight conditions and personal preferences. There are fewer requirements for passengers than for pilots. However, following the above recommendations, it is possible to make your paragliding flight as comfortable and safe as possible.
