We offer you a day trip to the city of Gori. It was founded in the 6th century, but it gained worldwide fame after Joseph Dzhugashvili, popularly known as Stalin.
There are two main sights in the city - it is Goristsikhe, a fortress located on a hill, and the house of the Stalin Museum - the house where Stalin lived up to 4 years, a museum with Stalin's personal belongings and gifts, as well as a personal carriage, which is located in the museum courtyard!
After Gori, we will head to the cave city Uplistsikhe, which is carved in the volcanic rock of the Kvernaki ridge. The town of Uplistsikhe dates back to 1 BC. er and flourished in the 19-20 centuries. Uplistsikhe was a major pagan center, there were different types of sacrifice and all pagan rites before the adoption of Christianity. At the end of the 19th century, the city was completely covered with a layer of earth, and painstaking work was needed to restore it.
